Data Product Manager

Internship
Remote, Canada
Part-time or full-time
About the role

Shape the data that shapes the product

Zoe is a data-driven product. Every recommendation, filter, and insight Zoe surfaces traces back to how we define, structure, and govern our vehicle and user data. As our Data Product Manager intern, you'll sit at the intersection of product strategy and data operations.

“A great data product is invisible to the user and indispensable to the team.”

This role is for someone who thinks in systems, communicates clearly across technical and non-technical teammates, and cares about product quality at the structural level.

What you'll do
  • Define and document data requirements for new and existing product features — what we need, where it comes from, and how it should be structured
  • Work with the data acquisition team to translate product needs into clear data collection briefs
  • Identify data quality issues that affect the user experience and drive them to resolution
  • Map data flows across the product from ingestion through to what appears in the UI
  • Write product specs and acceptance criteria for data-dependent features
  • Support prioritization of the data backlog based on user impact and engineering effort
What we're looking for
  • Structured thinker who can break ambiguous problems into clear, actionable definitions
  • Strong written communication — you can write a brief that engineering and data ops both understand
  • Comfort with data concepts (schemas, relationships, data quality) even without a deep technical background
  • Curiosity about how products are built and why data quality matters to the end user
  • Bonus: experience with product management tools, SQL basics, or consumer-facing digital products
What you'll get
  • Meaningful ownership over real product decisions
  • Hands-on PM experience at an early-stage startup — not busy work
  • Exposure to the full product development lifecycle from idea to shipped feature
  • Mentorship from the founding team and a strong reference for your next role in product or data
